Pastor Steve requests one male, one female, and one youth for Maundy Thursday foot-washing. The Synod Assembly to be virtual this year. (More info to come later.) No-one familiar with Tele-Data Services, so email determined to be “junk”. We do want Easter ads in Chronicle and Journal. Susan to take care of it.
Committee Reports: Got opener and closer for April 26. Euch. Min. visited Sue Rhodes, Barb Wright, and Lora Conrady in March. Vacation Bible School to be August 3-6. Hot Meal has worked well out of neighboring church. Hoping to do kitchen remodel in August, while no Bluegrass. Pantry attendance picking up again. New light is working well for their needs. A Presbyterian pastor has shown interest in our church. Synod talking with them. Website domain name renewal paid for year. Andrea trying to add FaceBook recorded services to website. Lawn mower tuned up and ready. Joe to spread mulch when weather is nice. Mark installed new “closer” on women’s restroom door. Briefly discussed need for new closer in pantry. Co-Op Potato Bar fund-raiser great success. We look forward to working with them again, next year. 50/50 raffle brought in $600 (300 split), Raffle basket profit approx. $800. Tickets about $4,000, with match of $2,000. $6,000 profit on potatoes. Karen/Marcia getting donations of yarn, and knitting afghans for head start program. Adopt a School: Mark volunteered to go to career day with Donna and Karen. Karen will talk with principal to make arrangements. The first week in May is Teacher Appreciation week. We're to donate 5 dozen donuts. Viewer mentioned too many pop-up ads w/service in FaceBook. No-one else experienced, so probably viewers device. Joe working to get recordings on You Tube, website, and Face Book. Sunshine Committee established (Karen!) Reminded to check guest book for sign-ins after Easter. Lent piggy banks due Easter Sunday. Council to decide recipient at May meeting.
New Business: Chris mentioned the problems w/ants and bees in warm weather. Wonders if we should compare prices else-where. Will look at exterminator she uses at home, Hoban. Andrea agreed, adding that exterminator stated he doesn’t do pantry, and he was in, out, and done less than 10 minutes. Pantry computer cart in office: after much discussion re: placement, determined cart will fit in aerobics closet. We’d like TV in lounge, but cart won’t fit through doors. Mark to look for new base. Dave to call Chronicle and Journal re: Holy Week article in honor of Carol being organist over 55 years.
State of the Church: Dave reminded everyone to keep “spiritual growth” in the forefront of our “business”.
Meeting Adjourned with the Lord's Prayer at 8:19 p.m. Next meeting Tues., May 6 at 7 p.m. (Devotions: Andrea Orosz)
